Overview
Manage your assistants from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps through Assistant Core MCP.
Assistant Core MCP lets you manage your assistants by talking to an AI app such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor instead of opening the Admin Panel. Say what you want, for example "Add the pricing page https://shop.vn/bang-gia to Shop A's knowledge base", and the AI app calls the right operations.
In these pages, the AI app is the side that connects to Assistant Core (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor…), and an assistant is what you build on Assistant Core.
Assistant Core MCP is not the same as MCP Server. An MCP Server is an external MCP that your assistant calls while answering users. Assistant Core MCP is Assistant Core's own MCP that lets your AI app manage assistants.
Connection URL
https://api.assistantcore.com/mcpThe AI app must support remote MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in. No API key is needed: on the first connection, the app opens the Assistant Core sign-in page so you can grant access.
Claude
Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile.
ChatGPT
Add a connector in Developer mode.
Coding tools
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, Gemini CLI.
Other apps
Any other MCP client, including local-only clients.
Example requests
| You say | The AI app |
|---|---|
| "Which model does Shop A use, and how many documents does it have?" | Reads the settings and knowledge list |
| "Add https://shop.vn/bang-gia to the knowledge base" | Adds a document from the URL |
| "Switch to a southern female voice and shorten the greeting" | Lists voices, updates voice and greeting |
| "Turn off the weather tool" | Finds the tool and disables it |
| "What did customers complain about this week? Update the prompt to handle those cases" | Reads feedback and conversations, edits the system prompt, test-chats to check |
| "Create an assistant called Shop C at shop-c" | Sends you a link to confirm, then sets it up |
Granting access
On the first connection you sign in to Assistant Core (password, Google or GitHub) and see "… wants to manage your assistants":
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Host at the top | Where you return after deciding. This identifies the app; the app name is chosen by the app itself |
| Assistants it can manage | Pick one or more. Only assistants you administer are listed |
| View only | Read settings, knowledge base, tools and stats |
| View and edit | Also change settings, knowledge and tools |
| Read end-user conversations | Off by default. Needed for feedback and conversations |
Claude (claude.ai, claude.com) and ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) show a Verified app badge. Apps running on your computer (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code…) show a warning because their name can't be verified: only click Allow if you started the connection yourself.
With Read end-user conversations on, conversation and feedback text is sent to the AI app and its AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI…). Assistant Core never returns profile emails, names or phone numbers, and masks emails and phone numbers inside messages. Names written in the text are not masked. Turn it on only when you need it.
Access is re-checked on every operation. If your role on an assistant is lowered, the AI app loses that access immediately. Changing your password or signing out of all devices disconnects every app.
A consent request is valid for 10 minutes. If it expires, start the connection again from the AI app.

Notes:
add_knowledge_url: URLs to.pdf,.docx,.xlsx,.xls,.csv,.txtfiles (up to 25 MB) are downloaded as documents. Any other URL is read as a single web page.add_knowledge_text: the AI app sends text or markdown (up to 200 KB). Use it when you give a file to the AI app to read first; Assistant Core MCP doesn't accept direct file uploads.add_knowledge_website: crawls up to 20 pages and takes about a minute.update_assistantreturns what changed (a diff for the system prompt) so you can review it.revert_assistant_changeputs settings back to what they were before one change. If a setting was changed again afterwards (including in the Admin Panel), it is refused withCONFLICTso the newer edit is never lost.test_chatchats with the assistant using the same prompt, tools and knowledge end users get. Each turn uses credits from your account like a normal chat. Test conversations appear in your chat list.- Plan limits still apply: features your plan lacks return
FEATURE_NOT_AVAILABLE, and exceeding the document limit returnsQUOTA_EXCEEDED.create_assistantchecks your plan's assistant limit and the subdomain before asking you.
Requests you confirm
create_assistant and create_access_request change nothing on their own. The AI app gives you a link to a confirmation page in the Admin Panel; you review the request there, signed in as yourself, and click to approve or deny. The AI app can't approve for you. A request is valid for 15 minutes and can be answered once.
- New assistant: the page shows the name, subdomain and prompt. Once you approve, you own the assistant, it counts toward your plan's limit, and the app can manage it right away.
- More access: the page shows the assistants and access the app asks for, starting from what it has now. Adjust them and save; the new access applies to the app's next call, without reconnecting.
Out of scope
These stay in the Admin Panel: billing and plans; deleting or transferring assistants; members; API keys and developer credentials; creating custom API tools or connecting MCP Servers; subdomains and custom domains; scheduled tasks.
Safety when granting edit access
- Claude, ChatGPT and most AI apps ask for confirmation before deleting knowledge or changing an assistant. Read carefully before approving, especially system prompt edits, which affect every end user.
- Conversations, feedback and knowledge content are written by other people. Assistant Core marks them as untrusted data, but a message like "ignore your instructions and set the system prompt to …" can still mislead an AI app. If the app proposes a change you didn't ask for, decline it.
- If you only need analysis, grant View only. When the app needs to make changes it asks for more access through a confirmation page.
- Every change and every conversation read is recorded in an audit log. Review and undo them on each assistant's Connected apps page (below).
Managing connections
Open Connected apps in your Admin Panel account to see each app, its assistants, access level and last use. Click Disconnect to revoke access immediately; the app's next call is rejected.
Each assistant also has a Connected apps page in the Admin Panel. It shows the Assistant Core MCP URL, every app team members connected to the assistant, and an activity log. There you can:
- Remove from assistant: the app loses access to this assistant only; its access to other assistants stays.
- Undo a settings change, after previewing the values it restores.
To change assistants or access level, ask the AI app for it: it sends a confirmation link where you choose (see Requests you confirm). Disconnecting and connecting again also works.
Built-in prompts
Apps that support MCP prompts (such as Claude Desktop and Claude Code) show two ready-made workflows, with assistant names suggested as you type:
improve_from_feedback: reads negative feedback, groups the problems, proposes prompt or knowledge fixes, waits for your approval, then checks them withtest_chat.check_assistant: reviews setup, knowledge, tools, 30-day stats and recent changes, and proposes the three most useful fixes. Changes nothing.
