Upload Documents

Upload files to your assistant's knowledge base for AI-powered answers.

This page is for assistant admins. For end-user uploads from the Web App, see Web App > Knowledge Base.

How to Upload

  1. Go to Knowledge Base in the sidebar of the Admin Panel
  2. Click Upload Documents or drag and drop files
  3. Wait for processing:
    • Document parsing and text extraction
    • Text chunking (split into searchable segments)
    • Embedding generation (AI converts text to vectors)
  4. Status will show Completed when ready

Processing time depends on file size. A 50-page PDF typically takes 10-30 seconds.

Document limits depend on the owner's plan and current platform configuration. See Plans & Pricing for the latest limits.

Managing Documents

  • View — Click a document to see its details and chunks
  • Delete — Remove a document from the knowledge base
  • Re-upload — Delete and re-upload to update content

For best results, upload well-structured documents with clear headings and sections. The AI uses these to organize information for retrieval.
